Service vouchers

Alterations and small sewing jobs

Give your clothes a second life. Drop them off at one of our centres and pay for your alterations with service vouchers (titres-services / dienstencheques).

Seamstress altering a garment at the sewing machine

A dress to alter, a hem to take up?

Those trousers that are too long, that jacket with a missing button or that blouse with a split seam, all waiting at the back of the wardrobe?

Our seamstresses take care of your small sewing jobs and repairs to damaged clothing, with the same care we bring to your ironing.

Like all our activities, alterations are covered by the service voucher scheme: you enjoy careful work at the unbeatable value of service vouchers, and save yourself a trip to the tailor.

Our alterations

What we can do for you

Hems

Trousers, skirts, dresses, curtains: a hem to be adjusted or shortened.

Small adjustments

A dress, a blouse or a jacket that needs taking in slightly.

Split seams

A seam that has come apart, a lining that has come loose.

Buttons and small fastenings

A button to sew back on, a press stud or a hook to replace.

Tears and mending

A hole, a snag or a tear repaired neatly.

Household linen

Covers, tablecloths, curtains and net curtains: small repairs to make them last.

The service voucher rules cover alterations and small sewing jobs. Made-to-measure garments and major alterations are not included. Not sure about an item? Show it to us at the centre and we will tell you what is possible.

In practice

How does it work?

  1. 1

    Drop off your clothes

At either of our two centres, Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 6pm, no appointment needed. Tell us what you would like done: we mark up the alterations with you.

  2. 2

    We estimate the work

As with ironing, one service voucher covers one hour of work. We tell you when your items will be ready when you drop them off.

  3. 3

    You collect your clothes

Your items will be waiting for you at the centre, carefully altered. Why not drop off your laundry basket for ironing at the same time?

With your agreement, our administrative fee (in French) is added, capped at €20 per month across all our services.

No appointment needed

Your questions

Frequently asked questions

Can I really pay for alterations with service vouchers?

Yes. Small sewing jobs are among the activities allowed under the service voucher rules, just like ironing. All you need is an active Pluxee user account and service vouchers available.

How many service vouchers will it take?

One service voucher covers one hour of work. The number of vouchers therefore depends on how long your alterations take: we tell you when you drop them off.

Can my housekeeper do alterations at my home?

At your home, your housekeeper can mend the laundry she irons: sewing a button back on, fixing a small seam. For more precise alterations (hems, adjustments), our centres have the right equipment. Find out more about our housekeepers.

Do I need an appointment?

No. Simply drop by the centre during opening hours, Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 6pm. If you have a question beforehand, call us on 02 675 41 03.
